Meaning of the proverb
Unlike the other proverbs with similar meaning above, this Luhya proverb is direct in meaning. It literally states that kinship is the blood on your tongue, therefore however much you try you’ll have to taste it and swallow some. Kindly note this Luhya dialect use of the word mabanga to mean blood just like their brothers the Bukusu do.
