About Mulembe Food
What food does Mulembe Food cover?
We cover East African culinary heritage, food security, and agricultural data across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and the Great Lakes. Recipes range from Bukusu and Maragoli traditional cooking to Kenyan national cuisine, street food cultures of Nairobi and Kampala, and cross-border food trade.
What is the Mulembe Food Systems Index?
The Food Systems Index tracks food security, agricultural productivity, market access, and nutritional outcomes across East African counties and districts. We draw on KNBS data, FAO assessments, community submissions from farmers and traders, and primary reporting.
How do I contribute food data or recipes?
We welcome recipe contributions, market price data, food security observations, and agricultural data from farmers, traders, and community monitors. Contact lab@mulembenation.co.ke.
