About Mulembe Find Your Family
How do I trace my Luhya or East African family roots?
Start with our genealogy guides to Luhya sub-group histories — each of the 17 sub-groups has distinct clan structures and migration patterns. Our growing database of community-submitted records, oral genealogies, and clan histories is searchable by sub-group and home county.
What genealogy records do you hold?
We hold community-submitted genealogical records, clan histories, and oral genealogies from across Kenya and the Great Lakes. The database is crowdsourced and community-verified. Records submitted for private research are not published without the contributor’s written agreement.
How do I submit family records or clan histories?
Submit family records, clan histories, oral genealogies, or place connections to roots@mulembenation.co.ke. You control whether your submission is published publicly or held privately. All submissions are handled in accordance with our data governance standards.
