Update (24th October 2020)
Busia county alongside Bungoma county have emerged as the virus hotspots in Western Kenya. This has been attributed to these counties being border counties traversed by major highways connecting Kenya and her neighbors. As of yesterday, the African Union and Kenya’s authorities warned of a second wave of the pandemic sweeping through the continent. Of note, is that this is happening within weeks of African governments loosening lockdown measures aimed at mitigating the spread of the virus.
It remains to be seen if there will be a rollback and another lockdown, but as humanity fights through this pandemic we urge our brethren and sisters to remain vigilant. Stay safe out there.
