In the runup to Kenya’s 2017 general elections, one of Vihiga politics poorly kept secrets was the ambition of one Eng. Josphat Amadi for Vihiga Governor. You needed only to ask the local women groups what this son of mulembe had done for them to get a feel of his common touch. From paying school fees to generous harambee donations for building churches; road works and more, Amadi’s philanthropy spanned the breadth of Vihiga, touching residents across its numerous streams as it was devoid of ‘ubaguzi’.
