Kesekwa’s Dream
Kesekwa had one of those scrambled eggs dreams that we all have. First, she was at her khukhu enjoying a meal of lisebebe and bwoba (mushrooms); her sumptuous meal washed down by yet another rendition of the tale of Namakanda the frog.
Next thing, she’s being swept – not drowning- in a storm drain, dirt water carrying her along to whenever. She struggles to save herself, only to find herself clutching at a desk at the waiting bay of a hospital. She is at hospital as she is heavy with a child that’s due any moment as she feels wet below.
Given her condition, she fears the worst thinking that her water broke. However as it happens in the psychedelic world of dreams, when she feels her tummy, her baby bump is gone. And when she pats herself, she finds only her menstrual flow.
What is the meaning of Kesekwa’s dream? Menses and pregnancy in Luhya dream interpretation
According to Luhya inteprations of dreams, Kesekwa will soon meet a suitor as she dreamt of eating mushrooms. Whether their hook up will be a fling or will lead to marriage that’s eventually cemented by kuvika kesegese if she find love in Maragoli or khuboa chinyinja if she ends up cooking in Bukusu land is up in the air.
But one thing is for sure: good things are coming her way. This is because Kesekwa’s dream involves a weird animal (fable of Namakanda the frog).
