Mulembe Nation publishes paid partner content from time to time. This page explains what that means and how it is handled.
What paid partner content is
Paid partner content is content produced in partnership with an external organisation that has contributed financially to its production. It may include sponsored articles, data reports, or research summaries. It is always clearly labelled.
How it is labelled
All paid partner content carries a clear label at the top of the page: Paid Partner Content or Sponsored by [Organisation Name]. This label appears before the article text begins and is visually distinct from editorial content.
What paid partners cannot do
Paid partners do not control or direct editorial content. They cannot require us to suppress, soften, or omit information. They cannot prevent us from publishing critical coverage of their organisation in our independent editorial sections. They cannot require us to adopt a specific editorial position. They cannot see or approve independent editorial content before publication.
Data reports and index sponsorship
Some index methodology reports and data publications may be produced with research funding from external organisations. In all such cases, the funder is named prominently, the methodology is published in full and independently reviewable, and the funder has no influence over the data, weighting, or conclusions.
