The Bukusu do have a specific greetings for different times of day. Let’s learn how to say good morning in Bukusu.
Bwasiele
You can comfortably say bwasiele translated as its dawn. This is closely related to how other Luhya subtribes say it, the only difference being the pronunciation. For example. the Maragoli say ‘vuche’, which is the most ‘out there way’ to say good morning in Luhya. This is because many more Luhya subtribes say busiele.
Okonile orie
One can also say okonile orie, translated as: how did you sleep?

Kevin: Bwasiele yaya Its dawn..
Wycliffe: Bwasiele bulayi yaya Its dawned well brother
Kevin: Okoline oriena wefwe? How did you sleep sibling?
Wycliffe: Ngonile bulayi wa mayi. I slept well son of my mother.
