KCB Group Plc is a holding company incorporated in Kenya under the Kenyan Companies Act, 2015 and as of 31 December 2020 had subsidiaries in Kenya, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi.
The group operates commercial banks in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi, making it one of East Africa’s leading financial institution. It also operates in Southern Sudan and Ethiopia. Its largest subsidiary is the KCB bank Kenya which is licensed under the Kenya Banking Act (1989) to carry out banking business in Kenya.

*KCB Group Rwanda subsidiary now trades under the name BPR Bank Rwanda Plc. This after KCB Group merging KCB Bank Rwanda and Banque Populaire du Rwanda (BPR) in May 2022 after purchasing 62 percent stake from London-based Atlas Mara Limited and another 14 percent from private equity firm Arise in late 2021. As of May 2022, company disclosures reveal that KCB Group stake in the merged unit at 87.5 percent.
The KCB Group has approximately 8,700 employees and a network of at least 495 branches across 7 counties in East and Central Africa. In addition to a strong branch network KCB also has an extensive agent banking network. With more than 16,000 agents across Kenya they are able to offer cash deposits, funds transfer and other services such as school fees payments, rent payments, bill payments, balance inquiries and mini statement requests.
The shares of KCB Group are listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange, Uganda Securities Exchange (USE), Dar-es-Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) and Rwanda Stock Exchange (RSE).
