Nkomo ward results and political history #
On 14th December 2022, the second governor of Meru County, Kagwiria Mwangaza, was impeached. All 67 MCAs present in County Assembly voted to remove her from office over abuse of office claims. Nkomo MCA Kithinji Ethaiba was absent and was said to be sick. Also absent was Kiagu MCA Simon Kiambi, who from the outset was the only legislator opposed to her impeachment, terming the allegations against the governor as a witch-hunt.
