Mulembe Travel covers East Africa’s places with more depth than a standard guide and more honesty than a tourism board. We profile destinations at county and ward level, track the infrastructure that makes travel possible or difficult, and report on the systems that shape visitor experience across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and the DRC.<\/p>\n

Sade Khalai has lived in four East African cities and covered border crossings, coastal trade routes, highland tea country, and the Rift Valley. She writes about places the way she writes about food: from the inside out.<\/p>\n

The Mulembe Place Index<\/h3>\n

The Place Index scores destinations across East Africa on infrastructure quality, accessibility, community welcome, environmental sustainability, and value for money. We build it from visitor data, community submissions, infrastructure audits, and primary reporting. The methodology is published. The index updates several times a week.<\/p>\n

Community submissions from residents, tour operators, and travellers are central to how we keep the index current. If you know something about a place that we should know, send it to lab@mulembenation.co.ke<\/a>.<\/p>\n
