In Venture Capital terms, management fees are a charge for the cost of handling all &#x201C;<span class=\"\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">assets<\/span> under management&#x201D;.Management fees can be paid on a straight line basis over the fund&#x2019;s life or be paid on a &#x201C;step-down&#x201D; basis where a General Partner (GP) reduces the fees at a certain point to reflect their reduced workload. i.e. Reduce fee to 2% of invested capital vs 2% of committed capital. Also, do note that funds can have additional operating fees that are beyond the 2% management fees.
